The International Selkirk Loop is a unique, 280 mile (450km), scenic roadway that wanders through two countries, two states, three Indian Reservations, and a number of towns and villages. The loop connects the Pend Oreille Valley with the Kootenay Valley, forming one of North America’s more remote and scenic highways. Blanchard’s citizens, who number about 1000, hosts some fun events to showcase their community. Friday nights are lovely for the Summer Concert Series in Lions Park. In mid-August, the Blanchard Daze Celebration features live music, a parade, stick horse race and other fun activities, followed later in the month for the Annual Bluegrass Festival.
