They call it Grapevine for a reason!

They call it Grapevine for a reason!

Did you know that Texas is one of the top wine producing states in the US?

If you enjoy wine - or not - The Vineyards Campground on Lake Grapevine has a lot to offer.  The Vineyards Campground  is set off Texas Highway 121, just 17 miles from the heart of Dallas and Ft. Worth. From there, it's a quick drive to attractions like Six Flags, the Fort Worth Zoo or the Stockyards.

But what most go there for are the beautiful grounds, great fishing and the private sandy beach to relax on!   There's also a playground for the kids,  fishing piers, a boat ramp and courtesy dock, nature trails to hike, golf cart and kayak rentals, a horseshoe pit and a group pavilion.  Every friday night until Labor Day there's a nice fireworks display over the lake.

Vineyard RV Park

The RV Park offers:

Campers can also enjoy an array of new experiences in nearby Grapevine. Minutes from the campground, the City of Grapevine offers a variety of entertainment venues, restaurants, and fun for all ages.  There's a vintage railroad, LEGOLAND Discovery Center with over 2 million LEGO bricks under one roof, a thriving art community with a glass blowing studio and black smith shop, a historical museum, dinner theater, spas and wineries.

 Sea Life Aquarium, Grapevine

In the summer of 2011, a two-story, 45,000 square-foot aquarium housing more than 30 spectacular displays of diverse marine life for visitors to enjoy - everything from shrimp and starfish to seahorses, sharks and rays opened.  The focus at Sea Life is on the quality of experience rather than scale, taking you on a seamless journey under the sea, which entertains, inspires and teaches the young and old.

The stunning centerpiece is the huge tropical ocean tank with a walk-through underwater tunnel.

In keeping with other SEA LIFE attractions there will also be a unique element reflecting its location with several displays, featuring creatures native to both freshwater and coastal habitats of Texas.

Sea Life Viewing Window

SEA LIFE will offer several unique interactive opportunities for all ages - from viewing windows offering a glimpse into the ocean itself; to enlightening talks, feeding demonstrations, as well as involvement in the brand's global SOS environmental and conservation marine campaigning.

In September you can experience the largest wine festival in the southwest.  Grapevine will once again celebrate the best of Texas wines with the 25th annual GrapeFest.  Named one of the Top 100 Events in the US, GrapeFest is the place to enjoy wine, music food and fun.

A popular GrapeFest pastime is the competitive Grape Stomping Competition where contestants vie for the coveted Purple Foot Award.  It's reminiscent of the famous grape stomping episode of I Love Lucy!

To kick off GrapeFest there's a Vintners auction.  A live and silent auction will give you the opportunity to bid on a array of rare items and amazing packages.
