When sales consultant James Davis greeted a lady & gentleman on April 26th in the Rocky Mountain RV & Marine parking lot, they asked him if the parts department carried valve extenders in stock. James informed them that parts did in fact have valve extenders in stock, so he walked the customers to the parts department and introduced them to a parts advisor.
While waiting for the valve extender to be delivered to the parts counter, James asked the customers what make of motor home they owned. They informed him that they had recently purchased a new 2011 31-foot Class A Hurricane, and they also shared that the purchase was a bit sudden and that they were not happy with the size of their new motor home.
After a further discussion with the “parts” customers, James discovered that they were now looking for a used 2007 or newer, Class A diesel motor home with low miles that had been well maintained. James then informed them that there was an unit in the inventory that fit that description; a well maintained 2007 Monaco Diplomat with very low miles.
After a thorough inspection & test-drive the customers were elated that they had found exactly what they were looking for, and in Albuquerque, New Mexico no less! It seems that they had purchased the Hurricane from a large dealer in Florida and never expected to find the perfect top of the line motor home for their needs at Rocky Mountain RV & Marine. After all, the reason they stopped into the dealership in the first place was to simply purchase a valve extender.
The next day they took delivery of their Monaco Diplomat grinning from ear to ear. Before they left the dealership, they praised every person that they had contact with during their visit to Rocky Mountain RV & Marine. They raved about how well they were treated by James Davis, their sales consultant, Bob Scholl, the finance manager, even the service and detail personnel.
The lesson here is: Give every customer “Simply the Best” service possible, because you may find out that a parts customer is also a Class A Motor Home shopper.
