When sister and brother Judy Roberts & Rick Scholl opened the business in 1985, it was on a much smaller property on Central Avenue about a mile west of the present location.  Rick had experience as a sales representative for a travel trailer manufacturer and Judy’s background was in accounting, so he managed the sales department and she handled the books. 

In a recent interview, Judy’s son, General Manager Terry Roberts said, “We are very proud of remaining family owned and operated through-out our 25 year history.  When we first opened, our service department consisted of a shed and a Quonset hut, now we have 24 bays with a 54’ paint booth and a full service paint & body shop”.  “Originally our dealership had a dirt parking lot and the sales office was a double-wide mobile home, but now our facility is on 10 acres and it has a 5000 square foot showroom with paved parking, plus our parts & accessories department is over 3000 square feet” he added.

Terry was the team leader on redesigning the new Rocky Mountain RV & Marine web site <rmrv.com>.  “Our host, MyRVAdvantage and our web master, Impact Marketing & Advertising, both did a fantastic job constructing our new web site”, Terry stated.   

The Rocky Mountain RV & Marine dealership currently employs 50 people.   Nine of those employees are family members and three are Judy and Rick’s grandchildren.  The walls in the showroom, service desk area and parts department are covered with awards from RV manufactures and certificates of achievement for training.

The dealership has been very involved each year in the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta, and they implemented hot air balloon graphics on their new web site rmrv.com.  Rocky Mountain RV & Marine has provided RVs to local television stations as well as the New Mexico Governor’s office for use during the fiesta.
